What You Will Do

As a Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Engineer for Raytheon you are responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio of preliminary concepts to fielded weapon system support MA&T delivers innovative structural and thermal engineering solutions utilizing methods ranging from classical fundamental & empirically based techniques to state-of-the-art finite element methods leveraging industry leading commercial tools; all complimented and validated by tests executed in a manner to ensure cost effective yet technically balanced solutions.

Raytheon is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer to join the MA&T this role you will get the opportunity to work on products throughout their lifecycle from initial design trade studies and proposals through qualification testing to enduring production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis
• Perform detailed structural analyses to solve various program structural design challenges
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models and/or generate mechanical loads and environments
• Work with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity to provide the answers needed under program cost and schedule constraints
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers
• Generate detailed archival technical reports

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelors degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent
• Academic or professional experience in structural design and analysis
• Academic or professional experience with any of the following tools: PATRAN NASTRAN ANSYS ABAQUS or equivalent software.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Matlab
• Experience in Structural test and instrumentation
• Advanced degree in aforementioned disciplines. ABET is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.

The salary range for this role is 57200 USD - 108800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
