School Crossing Guard (Various Locations)

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and control traffic flow at school crossings and surrounding streets.
• Assist children, staff, and community members in safely crossing streets.
• Maintain a professional presence and act as a visible safety deterrent.
• Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
• Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and any safety concerns.
• Communicate effectively with school personnel, parents, and law‑enforcement agencies.
• Adapt to flexible scheduling, including early mornings, late afternoons (School calendar/Seasonal other opportunities available).
• 15-30 hours per week.

Essential Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate strong pedestrian assistance and safety monitoring skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to remain calm and focused in high‑traffic or high‑stress situations.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform light manual tasks.
• Valid driver’s license (if vehicle direction duties are required).
• Reliable transportation to and from assigned locations.

Desired Experience & Skills

• Previous experience as a crossing guard, security personnel, or in a related public‑safety role.
• Flexibility to adjust work hours based on school schedules and seasonal demands.
• Professional demeanor and a commitment to community safety.
• Pedestrian safety regulations.
